GPA as the Main Factor during College Admissions

The most important thing in your college application is your grades. Different from essays and the SATs that may be refined in a few weeks, the transcript is a finale of your work in high school. It’s a reason why admissions officers first of all look to the transcript. In that way they can understand how successful you are going to be in college.
Remember that when you are encouraged to take the most difficult schedule, you have to be able to do well. There’s no sense to take the hardest courses if after that you don’t have time for social and activities.
“Is it better to get a B in the advanced class or an A in the usual class?”
This question is very frequently asked. Sure, sure it’s better to get an A in the advanced class. But actually, admissions officers would prefer you get a B in the advanced class. Advanced classes are a lot harder than regular ones and if you get a B – it will demonstrate that you can do hard workloads.
It should be mentioned that while colleges think about grades, they also pay attention at how you get on with your classmates. Here class rank appears. Class ranks assist colleges decide whether the C you had in Calculus is a consequence of negligent, or an actually strict marking system.

Be aware of Your Goals
You academic training has to show your goals as well. What type of college do you want to attend? If you think about exceedingly selective colleges, then you will need to take many AP classes; but again, with no harm to your grades or other activities.
But still, big state universities have different rules. They attract millions of applications every year and as a result they frequently pay attention on grades and test scores during decision-making. In this case GPA may play more important role.
